THY WILL BE DONE
You will notice in the Countdown, (which covers a period of about four months and then emphasizes the last two weeks, showing that there is an urgency and an agony) the Father’s “timetable must be met” – and Jesus was initially unwilling to “drink of the cup of our sin” … But during His great time of prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, He relented to His Father’s will.
Two things must transpire to initiate the death of Jesus – the Romans must have a cause against Jesus, and the powerful Sadducees must find a fault in Jesus to stir the people to distrust Him.
FINALLY, the Father’s timetable is met!... PASSOVER to the FEAST OF PENTECOST... the greatest event in history – this event “reconciled” mankind to the Father God.
